Here are some pictures of last Tuesday big protest in my town. Fresh clashes happened 5 mns walk from my house.

The picture of the march ( 30,000 people ) was in the morning.

The one with the cops took place in mid afternoon. Just youngsters and skirmishes ( from the suburb or anarchist ) came along to make trouble. The last one with the cars was in the late afternoon.

At that time a huge gas tear cloud was springing up over Rouen. All of this happened in the very centre of Rouen, under the eyes of tourist, family children...

And on this one they are torching cars ( I couldnt get a larger picture, but there are 6 in a row). Skirmishes burned 15 cars and broke a dozen shop windows

Ps, if you are fed up with my posts just tell me, but it is so amazing

The crisis is bigger than I thought. 4 weeks without any lessons. We still plan to have our exams on Monday though...

We succeed in getting some classrooms to take them, but we will need to hide to get there, in order to avoid suspicious looks from the blockers.
Indeed there are piles of chairs and tables -sometimes chains- in front of the doors. The Uni president ordered then the evacuation of the premises for these, safety reasons
The blockers are a bunch of people who stand for anarchy in Rouen. Thats a pure show here during each General Assembly every morning at 10 am. One can see that democracy is something which can be highjack so easily. They plan actions everydays...they are pretty well organized for anarchists. Some of them are not students, and everydays they give the chair to somebody else, in order to avoid any "visible leader" ( so they can break things without having anybody individually responsible ).They answer themselves to their questions and each time one of them is speaking at the tribune they all clap, in order to make everybody believe I was clever...
Things are getting worse here...I can here the police siren everyday and every afternoon I hear the noise of the Security civil copter circling in the sky over Rouen.
It seems that people down the street are getting more agressive ( two people fought for a parking lot yesterday in front of my house..).

I think I never saw such a crisis here before. I knew that it was the way France reforms itself but I never believed it was THAT true.

Anti CPE chronicles'

Well well, it seems like I have a lot of time...I am the only one writing hé hé

I was in a march protest today and it was crazy. We were 'tween 6000 - 10 000 people, and there was a big fight 'tween some ready-to-fight-protesters and the police. It was like a little war. They broke a lot of things in the city center.

Bottles, tear gas, piece of everything were flying 'tween the riot police and some masked protesters.

One exemple : one girl got hurts, her nose was bleeding and then she fell on the floor. Some people took her away 'til what they thought would be a safer place.
It took a few minutes to the fire squad to get to her ( at that time I was right in front of her taking a coffee breake in a bar - come on, we were protesting for 2 hours- and thats how I saw the whole thing ). And all of the sudden, things got nasty...

Where we were - where the girl was lying and waiting for rescue -, it became the battle field.

While the firemen were trying to put her into the fire lorry, we were between some violent protesters and the charge of the riot police. The owner of the bar took some people in ( and some others rushed out to protect their scooters that some people were trying to set on fire ) and locked us in, and the gas were everywhere.

Bad luck for the girl cause while firemen were trying to lift her up into the truck, one of the policeman shot a gas bullet which arrived...right under her in the fire lorry !!! ( I know it is not funny but I couldnt help smiling..).

It took half an hour to back off the crowd. Then It was the very popular mouse and cat game into the city center.

Wonderful playground ! cops running, sirens every where...there was a building site close to my place..pfiuu ! looks like Kosovo.Very impresive. Troubles started at around 16h, the whole thing really ended at 19h. Wow, that was something to see.

I found a much cheaper way to go to Greenland : I will build a boat.

Here is a picture of the boat I am building to take the whole of us to Greenland in August ( safe, cheaper, and confortable) , it is Emil and me trying it for the first time.

We think of naming it "L'invincible".Any other suggestions..?

Ahhhh sweet sweet France,

No school last week, we voted again for the entire Uni locked up this week...This crisis is going to last until they withdraw their bill...

But what is that bill ? it is inspired by the Danish system, the "flexysecurity" system. You get sacked easily, but "people" are suppose to help you find a new job quickly.

And in the French way it means : you are less than 26 years old, you can be forced to sign a "CPE", New Hiring Contract. And then your period of essay is...2 years !!! Bye bye loans, grant...if you want to make plans for a new car, a new house, a baby...no no no...You wont get anything from the bank, it will be hard to find an accomodation ( In big cities, your owner often ask you for your three last paycheck, a CV, and a letter from your job..)

And God knows the "efficiency" of the French unemployement system ( I once was registered in it during 1 year..I received two job offers...what a wonderful follow up !).

So "lets keep up the fight/Fac", we will win !!! hé hé hé we were 1500 at the general assembly this morning ( Memo : 1500 is a lot in a single uni )

Guess what...?

I am giving up smoking..again ! with patch this time...and I did notice a few things...that YOU all probably noticed, but that NOW i really do notice since it affects my way of being :

1. I tend to be "slightly" obsessional when I am short of Nicotina
2. Also a bit paranoid, but it comes with n°1
3....but thanks to my patch, thats not so bad so far, not locked up in a hotel

But I didnt pick up the right time, since exams are on their way...and universities in France are locked up again, in order to fight back a bill that our dear Governement wants to pass to properly fuck up people under 26...
And I HAD enough of this solitary life, the hell I want to go out and get pissed in a Nordic way...in...less than a month hopefully...

For people staying in Iceland this summer ? Do you fancy a day trip to Greeland one day in August ? I am definitly going there this time.

A sorry seb for the nicotina-side-effects-pain,
Miss you all.
