Hi every body!

I'm just writing from Akureyri to let you know the info...
Well Gísli is in the university in Reykjavík and I'm just here working my buts off (like saga), but it's nice to be back to normal life (who knows what that means). It was nice to see the Icelandick kids at Sandra's party... all thoug I think Gulli doesn't remember every thing from that evening (he kept on going after the pary with me and Emil). I must tell you Seb there might be some time untill I and Gísli will see you, because our trip to Paris will not hapen until nex year..
But I must keep on my studying and I'll see you later.

Margrét

P.s I miss you all so much and we must have some kinde of get-to-gether meeting again..
Kisses and love from Akureyri
Well... two o'clock at night and nothing to do.
There's FIVE people for breakfast, and not a lot to prepare, so I don't feel particularly bad about wasting five minuttes writing this.
I've sort of noticed that there really aren't that many people these days who's got five minuttes to spare to post a message here, and I for one think that's a shame. Obviously, you might not all have as much time as me, but still...
Anyway, to add pressure on those less active, I'll be writing some mails tonight and tomorrow night, where the hotel will undoubtdetly fall apart as no less than two guests will be roaming in the corridors.
( and who knows... maybe YOU will be the next one to get a mail )
I can't, by the way, really decide whether this is a good or a pisspoor job, for an example concidering the attendancy these days. However, the guests are being pretty nice to me, and one guy even tipped me a bottle of vodka the other night. :-) This morning, however, he totally dissed me as he managed to escape the hotel along with the bill he had worked up... so I've got some mixed emotions about this place, not surprisingly.
Anyway, I'll be hanging on the Internet for another week, probably doing very little, so it would really nice to get to read some comforting words on this site to keep warm.
Emil :-)

hahhh
Well did my first Nordica shift!... And it was great. A little bit coughing but ok. Just to let you know all I needed was my Bifró crew. Ok big place, loads of crew. COOL cloths. Actually more then cool, comfortable ! And black !! (big bonus). And the staff food. Ohhh my god 3 different courses, salad, olives, 3 different breds (just for the staff) oils of many sorts, milk (in a big container) and any thing you would want with your meal. And the biggest plus, Sebastien please hold something, a Balsamik vineger from Modena (jebb just for the staff). At the bar there were mint leaves, strawberrys and alot of cocktails ! and plus it was easy (compering to the wonders of Bifröst!). After a 9 and 1/2 hours I went to see Emil. Nice to vistit you dude (hey you get presents a Emils work!! at least I did cd and everything :) )Miss you all, got to go work at the other place (Broadway)

Saga working her ass off :)
Hellou!
Weekend and I'm spending mine in my parents. It' s fun to be in here, although I have to sleep on the floor. Today I bought a microwave to our apartment, it was actually quite cheap (around 6000 kronors so it makes 69 euros). Now I am a happy micro owner. My cat got a new sleeping pillow so now it is sleeping very calmly by my side=) Pekka went to see his parents and he just travelled there last night. He needed to change from train to bus and back again around 6 times..He was pretty pist off. We've tried to put our new bookshelf up but it is impossible, the instruction are SOOOOOOOO bad that you can't even imagine. So if you wanna save your relationship DON'T BUY a bookshelf! On Sunday we will finally get it up, I hope..
Nice to hear from Kári and Haukur, I hope to coffee shop is going to be the biggest coffee shop in Iceland=) You are probably soon controlling the whole coffee shop industry in there in the next summer!
I have almost spent all my savings so soon I need to start to live with my student grant (and that means lots of pasta and bread..) Oh yes, I have also pretty nice pictures from echo cave-trip, so Sebastien, if you want I can send you a souvenir=) I need to go now, me and my mother are going to put a half of my old clothes to a flea market..It means lots of work. Well, I don't mind anyway the whether is getting so cold so I stay gladly inside. Miss you a lot guys, you all should be here (if you would you could help us with that f***ing bookshelf!)..

And so the week went by and Emil finally got his ass back to work. This is my first shift and reversing back to owl-time is pretty hard. When I'm finishing here I will have been awake for about 24 hours, but that's the price you have to pay for getting up early on your days off...

It´s been some pretty boring days off too, I can tell you. It's difficult to find something to do, actually, and I still haven't found a job to help me pass the time. Most importantly I spent a little time driving Gulli to the airport along with Saga and, inspired by Sebastien, cleaning my fifteen square meter apartment, but that is also about it.
Anyway, being bored is only temporary and already now, I've got my hands full working at the hotel. I'm pulling some extra shifts so that i can get off later to go Denmark and when that's all done I'll try a bit harder to get employed. After all, we all need to save up money for the upcoming trip to Finland... and just looking forward to that can probably fill up the void, that Drifa and Saga and me are both trying to fill up with work and other social events.
( Am I right, girls, or should I give up the dream of ever becoming a psycologist? )

Anyway, spending time on the job actually gives my the great oppurtunity to start sending mails to people, because I haven't really done that yet ( sorry, guys ) and because there isn't really a lot to do anyway.
( which can be just as frustrating as having too much to do )
I can get away with a great deal of stuff that doesn't excactly count as work. Like right now, I think I'm gonna do some laundry, and then I'll probably watch some TV...
HI hi everybody, just dropped in to say hi to everybody, Me and Haukur havent had much time lately because we have been so busy at the coffiehouse. For those who are thinking about coming back to Bifröst, think about this....me and Haukur will be running the coffie house (Kaffi Bifröst) next summer and will be giving Fosshotel a run for its money here hehehe. anyway love and peace from bifröst everybody.

Well I there

Today is a normal schoolday. I am sick as hell. (Sound like whisky voice from Hell, got the Drifa morning voice :) ). Coughing like Seb (feel like I just smoked 100 fags ) and it is ok. Dont know why but it is. Later today one friend and I are going to know if why get to show our dialouge tonight at a café in school. Got a sofa into my room ( now there is no space no what so ever in the room, and it is clean!! Victory)
Any way, last night it was the first french lesson and boy can I say Bonjour and je mappelle Saga je suis étudiante. I am in a class with very wierd ppl. :) (of course I am sane) Got a new gig in school. Comercialshit. It is cool though. Get to go on the infamous trips with the school board ;)... My school is very funny, loads of ppl that are almost out of a novel. Well should eat or something :)

Saga coughing away:)

Halló!halló! halló!, á ekki að hleypa inn? Það var sagt að það væri show?

What is up with you guys? Hope everyone are doing good and smiling :)

I am quite busy these days and the weeks before and the upcoming weeks and always.. my parents are getting a bit angry that I am NEVER at home. . .
This newspaperthing that we are doing is taking time, got two jobs (worked 17 hours on saturday from 13-6am!, not like you didnt get used to that at Bifröst!? ), coffeehouse, friends and then of course school... god...dont get me started. But the other day we, the seniors ;), danced around town in sheets only, hair in a muddle, w/ make-up of a 5 euro whore and "Kill" or "Bitch" writing on the arm....(we were suppose to be scary) - it was fun and we had a hell of a party in the evening.. LEATHAL punch!! and ALOT of Hot n Sweet (where have I been drinking that before? ).. and there has been quite the partying so my parents are not that happy I think.
Otherwise I like having alot to do.. time passes more quickly..and what do you know.. soon Christmas is here, and then I am probably going skiing in Austria.... By the way... Seb, we had acctually SNOW coming down today! What is going on?! You can imagine how cold it was running around in the toga-sheet (shit?) (Suvi, this 1 was 4 u baby! )

Please write what is going on, and of course the weatherforecast!

Well.......done with the shitty job for now

If you guys got a wierd feeling last night, then it is me to blame. Last night was the worst ever. Working as a dishwasher at a posh place with no space. I hated my existenz last night. But then I thought of the wonder of the summer. What kind of swearword would Maire say to this or what would Drífa say to this, what kind of "WHAT" would Suvi say, Brians fuck off, Sandra laughing, Gulli beeing clever, Emil beeing wise, Pekka beeing mentally ill with the Empire (Pekka seek help), Sebastien talking in the hot tub when we had just come to Bifröst (Seb sorry dude, Sandra an I just could not understand you). Everybody talking about the star of this page Joooosephhhhh, and loads of more stuff.
So last night you guys saved me. Thanks for coming into my life :)
See you at Pekkas and Suvis at New years eve.

Well, Seb. I suppose you still quite haven't figured out how to post your own messages, not just comments, here. It is a bit stupid this Blogger-system, isn't it...? (No offence, Drífa)
Anyway, it seems that Gulli have some kind of strange need to clean things, which you should try and take advantage of, so if you can wait a week or two to clean your apartment, you should.
We'll be throwing him out of the country on Friday morning, and then he'll spend a week in Denmark before coming to France. I don't know anymore about his travel plans or how he will bring his sheep through customs, but if you can wait, you can let him do all the work.
Also, everyone who's seen Gulli's apartment knows what miracles he can work... He might not be very good at cleaning, but he can really help you arrange and organize your mess, so it reflects your personality, which is a huge step towards the perfect "bachelor pad".
I know that Saga probably won't allow you to bring too many girls home to check out your interior design, but still it already sounds like a pretty good place to throw a party every once in a while, so let us when the house warming is, so we all get a chance to be there... in the spirit at least.

has anybody noticed how fat Gulli has become. I really think we should make a collection to buy him a pet or a plastic doll or a sheep or something before he goes to France. poor guy.

Monday, September 15, 2003

And he probably knows how to use it, unlike me... Poor me.

Next year the empire will definitely take over in Bifröst. Be afraid, be very...

Saturday, September 13, 2003

Well, Saga, Drífa and Gulli swung by my hotel after the FH party and brought me a opened bottle of Red Wine that I'm looking very much forward to tasting, but overall I am disappointed in Fosshótel that they didn't manage to entertain our Mafia representatives better. Me and Gulli's song/riverdance performance definately would have saved that party, but sadly I was stuck here...
Anyway, I just had the idea that if we all joined forces again next year, we could ask Renato to put us in the same hotel and let us run it too. Then we'd defiantely get all the awards, and wouldn't that be nice???
Also, thank you very much for the joke, Saga. Glad to know that you have nothing better to do. Or actually...
Well, let's just hope our Finnish class won't "fall down"...
Hey guys
Hey guys, what up. How is the mafia? Well Gulli, Drifa and I went to the party last night. Miss you like mad mafia. We won Best Hotel and Friendliest staff. And I must say WE deserve it!!! We thanked you guys last night and you got 3 "hipp hipp hurra" (We icelanders do that to show "RESPECT")... But it was not much fun though without our mafia there !!!

Well got to be bored. See ya soon ;)

I have to write as well..
So I got my photos yesterday as well..BUT how nice..around 50 of them were ruined. Almost all the pictures I have taken from you guys=( I was so sad and I just wanted to cry. There are still quite many pictures which are okay, but still..All the pictures from beginning and also from our trip (w/ Saga and Seb) are okay but in between....For example, from Alanis party..there are only few good pictures. I think it is because my camera and zoom in it. Have to find out as soon as possible. So it is decided, you are all coming to Finland for New year's eve! GREAT! I think I won't buy any furniture at all so you won't break anything;)
Good to know that Emil is also starting to learn finnish, you can take lessons from Drifa because she is already in advanced level. And if you want to learn to fight in finnish call to Saga=)
Need to go now, minä rakastan teitä kaikkia!!! Vaikka olettekin omituisia..
Suvi
New years eve in Finland. Sounds great. I will invite myself and... and.. .and... well...allright. All of you are always welcome. Good to hear that many of you have already found new jobs. Emil just be careful that you won't turn out to be an owl. I used to know one guy who.. and things happened.. and he... and so on...But be careful anyway=)

Yesterday we got almost all of our pictures from Iceland and it was great to see all of you there. Memories of the summer are still so clear. It was strange to look at the map the other day and look at all the different countries where you guys are right now? World is such a small place, but still..

Well yeah, all of you come here to celebrate the new year's eve. Take an extra-jacket with you and we'll see you right next to the big stone in the corner...

245.

And I still like...
well, I feel pretty inspired by Marie's message which appeared while I wasn't looking at the site... I've finally had a look at it as well, now I've gotten back on night shifts and have a computer with Internet access and all the time in the world. Today's been my very first night here, so as I get into the habbit I can hang on the Internet for even longer and then I'll probably be writing somebody an E-mail ( Who will that lucky person be??? )
Anyway, besides from the fact that it's a nice hotel and that there's very calm here ( or maybe that's actually the reason ) this job here ain't no fun. I suppose you can add me to the list of people who miss staying at Bifröst
( Even though I am mildly disappointed that noone bothered to take my picture!!! ) and as a result I'll be joyning Drífa
and Saga in their ( futile? ) attempt to learn Finnish. I really don't know how much I will personally learn or how useful it'll actually be, but I could definately go for a new year's eve in Finland, so I think we should all peer pressure Pekka and Suvi into inviting us. Anyway, it's great to know that everybody's still alive, and because I'll be here all week, don't hesitate to write something stupid on the board, nomatter what I can come up with something even worse at four a clock in the morning... Emil.
Good morning,
Friday 12th of September 7:49am,I finnaly find out how to write on our website....Thank you Drifa for your help.
I started to work the day after I came back to France, it was awefull , I have never felt so lost in France. ONe week after I learned that my company went in Bankruptcy so half of the people working here are going to be dismiss. I was happy the best way to quit my job, but no way: Marie we need you we want to developp the export department so if you reallly want to quite you have to resign. I cannot stand them anymore so I think it's what i'm going to do.

I will try to put the picture in , now I know how to write.
i really miss you alot, I even dream we was spending New Year's eve in Finland at Suvi' s and Pekka 'place. Suvi you know don't try to convince us taht you live in an uggly flat, we just need a roof! What's wrong with you this morning?

Have a good week end guys!
France is so nice: alcohol is so cheap here!!!!
Love
Marie

Wednesday, September 10, 2003

OK, I'm ok as well. Or actually I'm not..I need to do this f***ing essay and I REALLY DON'T WANT TO! It takes like 20000 years to finish (Gulli, don't even think about that joke!) it and I'm not even half way..I'm hungry, I'm angry and I'm....writing here even I should do the essay..Hmm, well nobody's perfect. Our apartment still looks the same, except we bought a brand new dvd player yesterday. When I have time in my next life I will maybe watch a movie..
Okay, need to go now, just wanted to say hello=)
Love, Suvi

Dagen guys,

Back in France since sunday ! The trip in the plane was all right ( took a lot of medication... just one example : the guy sit besides me asked me if i could go to the 3 empty seats next to us - to allow him to sleep with his girlfriend with more space- and i said no cause i was scared in plane and needed someone close to me... he looked at me very weird for the rest of the flight but still; it was funny to see his face when i told him that!!)
Back in Le havre : rain and pollution...It will still take me few days to get use to the french stuffs again, like all the time.
My week is very packed! Unemployement to get, university to register, a flat to sleep, a phone to buy...
Well I miss you a lot but we will see each other.
More news later.

Hi people :)
..Just finished working in Café Victor 6 am (now I know how Emil felt like, maybe not..)- Kaos - it was "gamenight" Ísland vs. Germany.. WE WON!! (We tied...but we won!).. and ALL of the German fussball-laden (Thank you! thank you! My deutsch..) came.. And some crazy people came in the evening as well.. called themselves Seb, Saga, Emil and Gulli - tryed to ignore them, but they had quite the attitude!!!! - Then later came Sigrún all the way from Bifröst;) And the evening before Dúa came! The night turned out to be better than I thought... met a nice Australian guy named Peter (cute!!!) but hey you know me... I went home with the bouncer;) - Kidding, he drove me home. Anyways. . .
I am with Pekka on this one.. IKEA is not so much of a party

Hi everybody!
BAck in Finland and of course, back in school..First I thought to start slowly but apparently it's not possible..My days are FULL and sometimes (like now) I'm here until 5 p.m! Well, I came here to study, so..
Our apartment is very nice but not that cosy..We only have a table ( which my mother bought..had to take it anyway..MOTHERS!) and a bed and of course TV- so the apartment looks more like a prison with nive wallpaper=) I'm planning to do a trip to IKEA but Pekka is not that enthusiastic (WAU, difficult word..) about it..Have to find a way to fool him there.
I really miss Iceland and there's too many trees in here, can't see a thing! And the weather is..is..is..OKAY, the wheather is better in here BUT STILL..I could skip the sun..I think...JUST KIDDING;) Would be so great to be there!
Have a nice weekend everybody!!
Love Suvi
Of course you loved MY movie!!!! Johnny Depp is the greatest!

Wish I could be there with you
Bye Sandra

Halló halló halló.......

How are you all my darlings? I havent stared working yet. There is not so much to do here in this hotel. Only one room booked tonight and NO room last night! This would not happen in Bifröst. But apparently there will be a lot to do on Saturday, almost full hotel! I dont know if I can handle that, I mean that never happened in Bifröst!!!!! And also full hotel means almost 25 rooms, and that is A LOT!!!!
No just kidding this is very nice, we dont live IN the hotel, we have rooms in another building! Its all good.

Like most of you know Birgitta died on Monday the 25th of August! She was buried yesterday; I sent some flowers to her family from all of us, that is Birgittas co-workers in Bifröst, just to show that we cared.

Well see you later, miss you
Sandra
Wow. .tired - and whose fault is that? ;) I am still waiting for Seb to call in a bombthreat in my school.... Hmm..

Anyway thanx for the evenings guys, "hanging round" in Fosshotel Baron.. ok, we have done more than that.. tuesday we went to a museum (Sagas and my new place :) ) and in the evening, we who stayed awake (at least half the movie) watched Bowling for Columbine - brilliant movie!
Wednesday me, Emil, Saga and Seb went to see Sandras movie. .- Pirates of the Carribean - and I think Seb is in love with Johnny Depp! Afterwards we went to coffeehouse..
Last night was cosy, we ordered pizza and watched Fight Club (I did not understand shit!, I know...watch it again.. ) and of course drank some "perno" (how do you spell it?) But I think we are getting too comfortable. . "people" are sharing waaaaay too much;)

But otherwise school is ok.. party tonight
